O. Hayden Griffin

O. Hayden Griffin, professor of engineering, joined Virginia Tech in 1985. As head of the Department of Engineering Education, Griffin has planned and led changes in the department from a primarily teaching-only, freshman engineering program to a degree-granting, research-oriented department. He has also led the development of a Graduate Certificate in Engineering Education, which is currently in place, and led the effort to create a graduate program for the department, which will be the first of the kind in the nation.
